Welcome to Our Homesteading Section
We have tried to do our best with this section. We want a homestead someday but are still living in a suburban neighborhood. It is possible to do some homesteading in a regular home environment but it’s much harder to raise animals and impossible to raise crops. So we still have much to learn. But we have included lots of links to people who know how! We have also included prepping info and gardening. We have done some of both and are learning more.
General Homesteading
Here are sites run by people who really know what they are doing when it comes to homesteading. These are some great people. I hope to learn more from them as time goes on.
Prepping and Living Off the Grid
We have been preppers for sometime now. We try to keep a 6 month’s supply of most necessities on hand. It’s hard to do in limited space but anything you can do to help me self sufficient is always a good idea. You never know when disaster will strike or something unexpected will happen. After the plandemic, I think we are all more aware of how fast things can change! It’s always good to be prepared.
Gardening
We had a decent plot in the backyard of our last house. Since moving, we haven’t been able to start anything here. But gardening is something we really enjoy. It’s so cool to see something grow that you planted and reap the rewards of your efforts. And home grown produce tastes so much better!
Livestock
This is one area we know very little about. We want backyard chickens but don’t have the time right now. So we defer to the experts!
Homesteading Articles
This page is full of homesteading articles from the sites listed on this website. We will be adding to this as we go on.
