Real food – what does that mean? Our society doesn’t know what real food is anymore. We have been lied to and mislead for over 100 years in this country on what is healthy and what is not. Without going into too many details, when this country went through it’s change in the early 1900’s and became a corporation, big pharma, big agriculture, etc. took over every part of our culture. Where there is money, there is corruption. And our food was no exception. Healthy fats, real salt, raw milk, grains have all be vilified at one point or another and things like pasteurization, Crisco (processed industrial oil), rancid seed oils (stay far away from canola oil – even organic!!!), glyphosate soaked crops and iodized table salt took over. None of these things are natural, none are healthy. Fast food and convenience foods with no nutrition, nasty ingredients and rancid seed oils took over the market. Between that and the health industry, it is no wonder we are one of the unhealthiest nations in the world. Crazy! If you want an education in real food, visit the sites below. They will tell you what real food means! I have also included some sites that are just plain fun, like baking sites. While sweets are not healthy per se, you can make them healthier with the ingredients you use. And we all need treats sometimes! The sites in the copycat section are great places to get recipes for your favorite restaurant and junk foods that you can make at home with real food ingredients. Enjoy! Also, see the General Homesteading page for more sites that teach about real food and food companies in the Online Businesses page.

It all really comes down to food, doesn’t it? This section is so important. We have tried to vet companies that sell the cleanest food items. This section also includes some of my favorite recipe sites just for fun! Most of these are conventional but ingredients can be swapped out for healthier ones.
